Certified Financial Planner TM Certification Education Program (2007 - 2008 Session)

Program Length: Program consists of  approx. 6 courses.

Target Participants: Individuals seeking knowledge and credentials for careers as professional financial planners.

 Note: Application for Admission must be submitted and approved prior to  acceptance and  registration into this program. Students accepted into this program may register for any individual course, or all of the courses.

Candidates for the Professional Financial Planner Certificate must hold a baccalaureate  degree. This requirement can be waived if an individual has relevant experience in financial services. Applicants include CPA's, CPU's, CLU's, CFSA's, lawyers, stock brokers, trust
officers,  and realtors as well as other representatives of the financial services industry.  Individuals who meet the minimum educational requirement and are interested in entering  the financial planning field are invited to apply.  The financial service industry is one of the fastest growing career fields, and there is strong demand for people with financial planning skills and credentials. This program will prepare  you for success in this demanding but highly rewarding field. The courses in this program cover the areas of expertise that are needed to develop comprehensive, effective financial  plans for a variety of individual clients. Those who successfully complete the program are 
awarded a Professional Financial Planner certificate by Old Dominion University.  This is a career enhancing credential that distinguishes those professionals who have received hands-on training in a university sponsored program. This educational program is registered 
with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. The CFP Board is a professional regulator of personal financial planning so that the public values, has access to, and benefits from competent and ethical financial planning.
