To register for The Master Certificate in Government Contracting, you must first complete and submit an Application for Admission. Upon application approval, you will receive a program number to use for registration.
PROGRAM SUMMARY Contracting with the Federal Government requires knowledge of a vast array of statutes, regulations, guidelines, forms, processes and procedures. On-the-job experience alone seldom provides the broad, robust, and detailed knowledge needed in this most challenging and ever-changing field. Old Dominion University’s Master’s Certificate Program in Government Contracting is designed to provide a structured educational experience that guides the student through the entire procurement process, including all of the steps involved in identification of requirements, procurement design, source selection, administration, termination, and closeout.
The Master’s Certificate Program demonstrates a commitment to excellence in contract management and mastery of the core principles, regulations and procedures that govern today’s acquisition and procurement contracts. The program provides a practical, well-rounded understanding of government contracting. Obtaining the certificate demonstrates knowledge of contract management and negotiations to customers, peers, supervisors and management, and opens doors for career advancement opportunities with greater acquisition and contract management responsibility.
